Ash and Eve Designs was established in 2017 after years of working in the corporate sector, in leadership roles, I decided to take the leap and create full-time.

The business was born from the passion to create. Creativity is how I survive my day and I love to knit, crochet, felt and sew. I have been knitting since my teens were babies and have quickly developed a love for the craft and passion for all things yarn related, especially hand-dyed yarns. Initially, I was making charity toys to donate to my local hospital, then I started dyeing full time in 2019 and have not looked back.

 

Living on a gorgeous tropical island on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland I am surrounded by inspiring scenery and have been fortunate that hand dyeing affords me a life where I can make the most of the place we live.

All the yarn is hand dyed in small batches and I draw inspiration from all aspect of life. I do, however, especially love dyeing yarn in collections and tend to draw inspiration from my nerdy girl persona. I love Sci-Fi tv shows and movies so some of my collections reflect this personality trait, whilst others will evoke a feeling or trigger childhood memories.

 

When I knit, I love cohesive colour, so my collections contain yarns that complement each other and coordinate beautifully.

All my yarn bases are sourced from ethically produced farms and woollen mills in both Australia and the UK, where the producers are committed to maintaining sustainable practices and do not practice mulesing.  I always aim is to be as environmentally conscious as possible from my choice of fibre and dyes, to my dyeing and business practices.
